A tiny face where every millimetre counts
A chihuahua's face is tiny, and every part of it is working hard — the eyes, the ears, the dome of the skull, the look that says it's in charge. Get the proportions slightly wrong and it stops being your dog. The artwork keeps them from your photo, which makes the photo the place this breed is won or lost.

How this coat prints
Most chihuahuas are fawn, cream or tan, and a light, warm coat looks its best against dark fabric, hence two dark shirts here. On black, everything dark in the Night Owl design is left as bare fabric, so the dog, its iced coffee and the lit skyline are what print; pepper does the same against a softer charcoal. A long-coat chi's ear fringes and ruff are fine detail and need a close, sharp photo, whereas a smooth coat is all shape. Black and chocolate chihuahuas are the exception: on the photo presets they show more of themselves on a light shirt such as ivory or chambray.
The photo to use
Don't hold the phone close. A phone's main camera is a wide-angle lens, and at the distance it takes to fill the frame with a chihuahua's face it exaggerates whatever is nearest: the nose swells and the ears and skull shrink back behind it, until it's a different-looking dog. Step back to arm's length or more, use the 2x or 3x lens if your phone has one, and crop in when you upload — the app crops to a square anyway, and a modern phone photo has resolution to spare for it. A squeaky toy or a quiet kissing noise brings the ears up and forward.
Presets that suit this dog

Night Owl sets the dog sipping iced coffee in front of a navy city skyline, and on a black shirt a fawn or cream chi glows brighter than any of the lit windows behind it.

Head out of a cherry-red car window with those enormous ears streaming back like windsocks: a chihuahua's opinion of its own size, finally given some speed.

Party hat, a burst of paper confetti and one striped candle on a cupcake — and on a dog this size, the cupcake reads as a full birthday cake.
Questions
Is this a shirt for my chihuahua to wear?
No — it's an adult tee for you, in sizes S to 2XL, with your chihuahua printed across the chest.
Apple head or deer head — will the artwork get the difference?
It never needs to know which type you have; it copies the head your photo shows, so the domed skull and short muzzle of an apple head, or the longer face of a deer head, come through as they are — as long as the photo wasn't taken so close that the lens changed the shape.
My chihuahua is black. Is Night Owl a bad idea?
It's the hardest combination we print: a black dog against a night skyline on a black shirt, where the darkest fur is left as bare fabric. The warm window light on the face helps, but for a face that reads clearly, Boba Buddy or Cool Mom on a light shirt is the safer place to start — and the preview is free, so you can try both.
