What is in the scene
Your dog is drawn as a pale cream scratchboard-style engraving: fine strokes that follow the direction of the fur, tone built from how densely they are packed, and dark fur left as bare shirt. The pose is chin up, looking upward. Behind the head hangs a big gold crescent moon, with small gold and cream four-point stars, dotted constellation lines and one bright star resting on the chest. Nothing else is drawn - no ground and no horizon.
The photo that gets the best Over the Moon
Engraving turns light into lines, so the photo that works best is evenly lit, sharp and full of fur texture. Window daylight is ideal; a flash photo with flat white highlights is the one to avoid. The design looks upward, so a photo where your dog is gazing up or holding the chin high is a natural fit, though a level face works too. Both ears in frame, please.

How it prints
Two inks, cream and gold, and nothing else. True navy is the design's own shirt because it turns every unprinted area into night sky: the shadows in your dog's coat, the gaps between strokes and the space around the moon are all bare navy fabric. Black is the starker version, ink on midnight rather than dusk. Because only the light strokes are printed, there is no edge to the design at all; the outermost stars simply stop.

Over the Moon questions
Will my dog's coat colour show?＋
Not as colour. This is an engraving, so a golden dog and a black dog are both drawn in cream strokes; what carries over is the pattern of light and dark - markings, a blaze, a pale muzzle - in the density of the lines.
Can I use an older photo?＋
Yes, as long as it is sharp. A scanned print or an old phone photo works if the face is in focus and evenly lit; grain matters less here than in the photographic designs, because everything becomes strokes anyway.
How big does it print?＋
Large. It is scaled to fill as much of the 12-by-16-inch print area as its shape allows - up to the full 12-inch width - with its top edge about 1.6 inches below the collar, so the moon and stars spread across the chest.
